Last Post from Ireland!! More Baptisms!!

Finally, we made it to a Munster Rugby Match. Really good seats...up close and personal!

This is the Ireland Rugby Team Coach. I think he may have been there scouting and was really impressed that I was there from America.

Had another baptism. This is Janepher Mutebi, she is the one baptized the week before and her daughter Chloe.

Baptism this week was for Tommy Condemi. We will sure miss them. (Leo, Lucia, Leah, Emma and Tommy)

Great support from the Branch when the baptism is close by. Otherwise we have to travel 2 hours to use the font in Cork.

On the way to an appointment with the Elders. You can see....boys will be boys. This is a Dolmen. It is a 5000 - 6000 year old Portal Tomb.

Conference Saturday, we spent the day with Brother Michael Moylan and his wife Helena. Michael does a walking tour of the Historic city of Kilkenny. Which was to be followed up with dinner and watching morning conference.

Elder & Sister Brown (Brad & Lucy) Met up with us at the Kilkenny Castle for the tour, dinner and conference.

Michael and his brother

When we see a building that's 100 years old we think it is old. hahaha Notice the date on this stone???

Well......when we arrived at the Moylan's for dinner and conference we were told that the internet was down and we couldn't watch but....it was ok because we were having a party for ye. Ok, so she was having a party for her....I guess it was her birthday. After a few more people showed up I went to help her in the kitchen. She said no, you don't have to help this is for ye. Still I don't get it. She finally spelled it out.....this is YOUR party, you are leaving soon.  OH, finally I get it. This is quite the group of new friends.

Last District meeting. What a great group of young men and ladies. You are awesome and we will miss you!!!

You know how when you go to the Oregon Coast and you look and look and look and look for A shell. Not the case here.

12 October, baptism of Joseph Cope. He is the Step-Son of Patrick Connally who was baptized 22 June. (Elder Edwards, Elder Compain-Shaw, Patrick Connally, Joseph Cope, and Isabell Connally.

These pictures ..... I just can't seem to get them to straighten out so.....I will just let it be and let you know what their about. The first two show that the typical scenery doesn't seem to change in the fall weather. Still everything is green. But, you will notice the vine that grows on the walls and buildings...It is beautiful! Fall really is here.

Last picture of us at the Waterford City Wall. It was completely walled in during Viking times. Waterford will celebrate it's 1100 year birthday next summer. Quite a feat I would say.
See you in good ole AMERICA. This has been a wonderful journey and we have grown so very close to our Savior and so thankful that He is able to guide us to just the right place at just the right time to help His children. We have been truly blessed by this experience and hope you can all follow up with these wonderful blessings of your own. You'll never regret it!!

Wow! A lot has happened since our last post. We have been very busy hence, no updates until now. In our last post there is a picture of the Majola family. Charity Majola was attending the Temple Preparation class and was anxious to attend the Temple. The end of September she died in a tragic accident. She was from South Africa and the service that was held was worth being her all by itself. It was amazing! There were about 150 Zulu tribe members in attendance. The opening hymn was one that they knew and the harmony was AMAZING. It sounded like you had been transported right to South Africa. The tributes also following their customs were something we will never have the opportunity to witness again.

The first picture is from Buchart Gardens; the second is a picture of my dad and grandparents along with 2 cousins....long before I was born. Then comes the picture from the last time I attended a Nungesser reunion...Yep, you guessed it Amy, Melissa and David are really little. I think it was 20 years ago...That makes us all ALOT older. All the times we have gone out of the country, I have never seen a welcome to the United State of America sign. It was pretty cool. The last one is our family gathering at Island Park the end of July.

Busy Summer

We had a family gathering at Island park; then a family reunion in Seattle followed by a spur of the moment trip to Canada and Buchart Gardens. We had a great time and here are a few pictures to share.

Getting ready for Christmas!!

I can't believe it's almost that time of year again. We have soooo much to be thankful for. I just love the holidays, from planning to celebrating. I nearly have everything ready for Christmas....that means I can enjoy Thanksgiving and all that comes before and after. I will add pictures as soon as I purchase an adapter to insert my SD card into. Sorry for the long gap in updates. I will try to do better. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Trip to New York

After going to Palmyra we went to Niagara Falls. We took the Maid of the Mist tour and got WET. The picture at left is of horseshoe falls,(where stupid people go over in barrels) The picture below is of American Falls. Amazing how much water goes through these falls.

At the Hill Comorah Pagent it was breath-taking. Before it started the cast of 700 yes 700 (huge) walked through the crowd of 9000, and visited with them. That is the picture of me with Joseph Smith. (The only chance I will ever have to get my picture with Joseph Smith)
As the pagent started the entire cast was on the 10 story stage setup. The trumpeteers were on top and after them followed the entrance of the Savior. This was a very hollywood style production. Very inspiring, everyone should go at sometime in their lives.

As you may have already guessed, I haven't figured out yet how to get these pictures downloaded in the right order. Next time maybe I'll get it right.

We recently went to Palmyra, NY! This is the Palmyra Temple. It is the only Temple that has a clear window in it. The window looks directly out toward the Sacred Grove.

This is the Sacred Grove. As we approached this particular area, goose bumps went wild and our voices were hushed. Of course, no one knows where the personages appeared to Joseph howev er, something must have happened near this area.

In the frame house that Alvin Smith built for his parents shown below, there is this fireplace. This is the actual house and fireplace that the Smith's lived in. These are the bricks that Joseph hid the Golden Plates under to hide them.

Before the frame house was built, the Smith's lived in this very small log cabin. This is a replica, but is built on the same foundation that the original home was on. It has an upstairs area for sleeping. There were two beds, each slept three boys. Very small yet, when Joseph had the vision his brothers did not awaken.

We had a great time.
OK, I finally set up a blog. Now if I can just figure out how to keep it updated.
